Transformation: far deeper than change or improvement

Is a butterfly an improved catterpilar? Or is it an enitirely new and distinct being? - theme from the book

Business Transformation

The enormous value of a transformational strategy is acessing the unlimited supply of unconditioned, creative energy available deep within each individual. A simple change strategy may not shift the paradigm, intention and focus sufficiently to make the real difference that really pays dividends.

There is a story told of a poor farmer, scratching a meagre living year after year from the thin topsoil of his family property. Always living in fear of poverty. One day he asked a consultant to find new seeds and fertiliser to improve his yield. But the consultant could read the signs and recognised the real potential lying beneath the surface: he was sure there was gold below. The farmer was skeptical. Disbelieving. Discouraged. Resistant. But his children convinced him to dig down and check it out. Sure enough, they found a rich vein of gold that had been there all the time. They enjoyed far greater wealth than they had ever imagined possible.

We're the consultants. Are you the poor, fearful farmer. Or the wise children?
